Well, I don't have any macaws, but can I still join in??

To me, beak grinding is just about the sweetest sound in the whole world. Ollie does it for about 10 minutes right after I cover her.

To my knowledge, Dakota doesn't do it. We shared the same bedroom for about 7 years and I never once heard it.

Quito and Tausi do it as well. Around dusk I turn off the F/S lighting and start to transition them to dark. By the time I cover their cages, they are both grinding happily away.

Yeah, mine grind. Every single one of them from conure to hyacinth. I'm so happy that they're content that I just have to exit the room when they start--the sound of grinding beaks grates on my ears like nails on chalkboard! LOL!!

All of my gang members grind their beaks at night. It's a soothing sound.

Mine all grind. They all know the routine. Once I come in and start sweeping, everyone knows what's next. Once the first beak starts grinding, the other three soon follow suit.
