Default fire place question

Hello dear friends!

I have a question on gas log burning fireplaces. You know, the kind where you don't burn real wood. I know, how icky is that but in Houston, TX we only get 3 or 4 cold days. poor us!!!! Anyway has anyone heard if they are harmful to birds? and also - Yesterday at Target I got Ruby's x'mas gift. Well one of them! ha! She'll probably get more gifts that my boys! lol I hope they aren't counting. Of course they already know I love her more! hahahaha
It is a stuffed blue and gold macaw that comes with a remote and sings and says 50 phrases and will learn new ones, etc. It is on sale now for 49.99.
It is just tooooooo cute! I may get some more now that I think of it for some of my friends kids. If I can afford them! ha

Thanks in advance!

Jessalyn and Ruby

Well, anything that burns is consuming oxygen and releasing carbon monoxide so, if I were you, I would not light it when the bird is in the room and would make sure I ventilate it before I bring the bird back in after burning.

Also not all gas log fireplaces are vented.

Use of any gas fueled appliance should be well ventilated. I wouldn't use it even if we had natural gas down here. I even close my doors and windows if I am cutting the grass.

Thanks! They rolled in a couple at a time, and we just rolled with the punches LOL! I have a hubby who loves them as much as I do and works great hours and we have all morning from about 8am until around 3pm, with the birds together, then evenings a bit and all weekeend.

Nost are either rescues or rehomes, so life sure gets interesting around here LOL!
