Default Banjo - naughty or silly macaw

Banjo has been out of control naughty. She has discovered how to open a window, last Thursday I got home from work to find her rained on and shivering in the tree. On Monday she went out again, to "visit" with the sun conure aviary, this does not meet with approval.

I put her out in her tree before work everyday and when I get home. She truly loves her tree, she is clipped. Today she took my car keys off the hook and ate the remote and disable thingie for the security system, this is a bit of an oopsie. This was before I woke up, so maybe I will have to make a plan to cage her. I am still building aviaries but now I am going to have to arrange a padlock for her door. She is becoming quite the mechanic with items that dont belong to her. It is not that she is short of toys etc, I guess my stuff is just more fun.

I am so shocked when I read stuff like this!

Poor you.

Wow - she's pretty smart. Are there any critters that could hurt her when she's out on her own like that?

OH Banjo! You silly stinker! Don't you know that these things are "not met with approval"???? ha! Don't you dare tell Ruby how to open the windows or I will be mad at you. Tell mom to give you kisses on your Houdini beak. XXX

Jac ~ as to critters getting Banjo or Ruby while in their trees I would just say, poor, pitiful critter! ha!

Jac, not even the big dogs try touch her when she walks. Sniffing a bird butt is definitely not the thing to do. Chasing guinea fowl more fun for the dogs since they run and don't fight back, not that they can catch guinea fowl, just something to do.
If I described all the home and item modifications, I would be setting myself up for removal by the men with white coats. The other day she wanted to cut the power cable of the computer, she slowly picked up by foot, said no, and in slow motion made like she was going to put in the mouth. I of course shout NO, so she drops it and pretends the furthest thing from her mind. There is no way these birdies and stupid. I guess she was just testing to see if I was paying attention. They are definitely capable of cognitive thought since she will walk muttering no as she goes, while heading for a banned item or place.

Oh No! we can't have your cable cut! - Bad Banjo!

Nor do we want them to take you away. It looks like you need to put all things not bird proof in a box with a lock & let her have the rest.

I think I'd be pretty miffed with the destruction - obviously I'm turning into not much of a big bird person - I'm learning Budgie destruction is my limit.

So the new aviary is to house her too?

PS - any new photos of Ms Banjo?

Non bird items are mostly (I discover more non bird items daily) behind closed doors, except the doors suffer a bit of reconstruction, soon I will have a bird door (doggie door) system in the lower 1/4 of the doors. She is working from the bottom up. She is banned from the bathroom due to soap carving. Shampoo and toothpaste get distinctive perforations, so it is shower and out. Budgie work does not even get noticed in this house.
Banjo will be getting a day aviary, right now she cant live outside since she has no buddy.
No new pics of Banjo, no camera and the cell not the same.

BANJO! NNNNNOOOOOOOOOO! Ruby will say no to herself too. REALLY scary thing. She makes her voice real low like I do and says NO NO NO. She thinks it's fun to clear all dogs off the sofa. The minute they get settled in for a nap they hear this "click, click, click". Ever seen a boxer and chihuahua hop? I mean hop straight up in the air? It is sort of funny.

I also have a mechanic bird Darius can open just about any cage door I have nicel plated heavey duty quick locks on his food dishes and cage door so far so good. I must say though He is a very very good boy about not touching things that don't belong to him if I say no he listens imediatly He's just one very special little guy but definatlety to smart for his own good.
