Ok - now I see that - do you know how old they both are?

They are in two separate cages but I have them pushed next to each other. I'm hoping in the future they'll be able to live in the same cage. Ike also didn't have any toys in his cage, I put only a few in because I didn't want to scare him. The first day he sat in front of the mirror for hours.
No Toys! Wow - unimaginable - well he's come to the right place for sure. Mirror love is pretty sweet - even Rio loves his image. Laker was a bit like Ike - his mirror was everything when I got him.

The guy we got Igor from never let him out of his cage, mainly because he couldn't get him back in. When I'm home on the weekends I don't even lock his cage, he just goes in and out all day. He knows to stay out of the big bird room and away from they when they're out. I'm hoping Ike will follow. Igor greeted Ike with a huge lovie chirp when we got him. They will chirp back and forth.

We've had Igor for so long that I forget what a feathered lovie looks like....I didn't know Ike was a black masked until we picked him up.
It sounds wonderful - all the best & I do hope they enjoy each other. I don't know if they are a bit different from the Peachace or Fishers - I had read they are much gentler & sweeter in nature - but that can be a generalization.

They are both adorable.
Ike doesn't have much black on his head for a black masked- he looks almost like a Fischer's!

Awwww, I just love love birds. That was my first choice when I was looking to get a bird. My husband wanted a Cockatiel. That's how Tobi graced our home....

So Igor's feathers will never grow back? Why is that? I always thought that when they are taken out of a situation and place in a new home, in time their feathers grow back. He must feel cold. Would he lose some body heat being like that?

When you get new birds, do you keep them apart for 60 days before introducing the new bird to the others?

No, Igor's feathers won't grow back in. he's been plucking for so many years that there is no follicle left. He is happy though and that's what matters.

Tonight the two of them had a conversation going for awhile.
