Jac, they actually get along just great! My hubby got me a new cage for our anniversary last weekend and I upgraded them into that. Before the new cage I had Peepers alone. Not sure on the sex, but I too thought Petrie was younger than Petey.

If your little friend's don't fight, allow them to be together, if they fight often, separate them.
In the wild when 2 birds don't get along, one can always get away.
Being caged is a different story, one can be harmed, or both can be harmed.
Use your better judgment Jenn.
I am sooooo very pleased by all of this, thank you again for opening your heart and home to those little ones.
