Default Can you tell me...

... if Hope really is a Dutch Blue mutation or something more complicated?
I couldn't find any pics of birds matching her colors.

This is the only decent pic I can get of her. She doesn't like to be away from Mikey... though Mikey doesn't seem to even want to be near her. He's mama's boy. Hope's only about 8 months old, so I think she'll have more color to her by the end of summer.

If the pic isn't enough to tell, lemme know and I'll get better pics of her rump and head.

PS: Here's a really bad, but cute pic of Mikey and his cuddle toy. ( Actually two toys that were "DR. Frankenstined" into one )

!! My boyfriend doesn't know how to take very clear pics...

Hope was six to seven weeks when I brought her home for his ( boyfriend's) B-day gift. He'd gotten along with Mikey so well, I thought it would be nice for him to have a baby of his own, plus having a second lovie isn't a bad idea.
He's loved her since day one.

We haven't properly sexed Hope, but she perches with her legs further apart compared to Mikey, who is DNA'ed male. I heard that females perch like so because of the gap in the pelvis for egg passage.

I don't know about mutations either- but they are both so precious!

From the photo hope appears to be a seagreen (which is a white faced mutation).

visit African Love Bird Society lovebirds agapornis for more information. You can see a photo of her here towards the bottom of the page:

Blue - Whitefaced Blue - Seagreen Lovebirds

It also appears that she had fun with a pink colored mineral block?

They are so cute!!! I love the pic of Mikey. We 'frankenstein' toys together all the time, lol, but now we have a name for it!

I couldn't think of a way to describe re-cycling without saying... re-cycling.

I'm trying to get clearer pics. I'm also going to try and post a vid soon.
