Default Biters

Hi there - any advice on how to these rescues to stop biting me? I'm inexperienced with Lovebirds. When I had my cockatoo many years ago, he was sweet as can be, I wasn't afraid of him in the least - but these little gals scare the heck out of me, and they think it's hilarious. Go figure. When they are out, they climb all over us, and hang upside down from our hats - pretty cute, but they won't step up, and if you try to go to them, they bite. I know why they act this way - because of where they came from, but how do I stop it so we can touch them? Thanks for any help. Second Chance, if you see this, I can't figure out how to post on your rescue site, dumb I know - but hope you get this, Thanks a million!

It may help for them to step onto a open palm or arm not fingers.

Lovebirds can be very nippy. I would suggest either stick training or doing what Angie suggested

LOTS of patience. And LOTS of goodies (ie apple slices, etc...) And I agree, either off the palm of your hand, or a training stick, perch. It sounds like it may just be hands and fingers they are scared of, I bet a training perch would work GREAT! Good luck, keep us updated and I wanna see pic
