I just think he is so adorable. He talks he refers to himself as Mr. Juice although we named him Crickey he also topped that one and says Mr. Crickey. He is 3 years old and i hand fed him when i got him.

OMG just to cute. His colors are pretty. He looks so small in your hand. Good luck with him. He seems like he is a great bird already.
Totally late to the party on this one but my goodness! Mr. Juice/Crikey is ADORBLE!
I've never seen a red-flanked lory before -- are they difficult to come by?

When I saw the 1st photo I thought he was a figurine!
I have never seen one - not even in a photo. Please tell us about him - how he plays - who he likes - what he sounds like - what are his special things ... everything!

Yes they are pretty hard to find. We have one breeder in Houston that i know about but she always has a long waiting list i had to wait for him for years. Two or three more years had to wait for a female and she unfortunately did not live long. I thought she was going to have babies but got some kind of a growth at her vent and while we were treating her she got worse and died. Now i am not planning on getting another mate for him, he is fine on his own.

You can see them at the zoo i heard. He is a really neat little thing. He talks he says Mr. Juice and Crickey Juice. He loves his toys and of course like all lories makes a lot of mess with his juice squirting as my kids refer to. He loves to cuddle and get his head scratched. Very active never stands still reminds me of a humming bird.
