Well, yes, very, very, very, very much so. But its worth it, shes an adorable bird! Since lory's eat liquidy food, the poop is liquidy, and she can shoot quite a distance.. at least 3 feet out of the cage. I put down plastic stair guards I bought at home depot to protect the floor, and I bleach and hose them down about once a week. I bought the inside liner of a shower curtain and cut it to size to wrap around the sides and back of the cage to contain some of the poop. The cage itself I hose down about once a week as well. I have a routine so its not so bad, and like I said, her personality is so worth it...... Still a tad nippy at times, but talks up a storm, loves to do and learn new tricks..... She was abandoned by her previous owner, but warmed up to her new home really really quickly..

Have you ever tried mixing pellets with her powder to help "thicken" her droppings? Do you feed only liquid nectar, or do you also do the powder?

oh, no, she gets a dish of liquid nector, a dish a dry nector, a dish of pellets, and a dish of vegies and fruits.
