Default Nature at my finger tips

The camera called out to me today, so I tried to be creative
1.Flowers that bloom from the Hosta
2. The reflection of water plants across the pond surface
3. Saki the Koi
4. Comets below the reflection of water plants on the pond surface
5. The pond waterfall

Opinions please!

Nice Going!

Loved the 1st one & the next 2. The plants looking all wiggly is quite interesting. Using reflections is a great exercise. I once played with the speed [can you do that on your camera?] & got some wonderful water effects. You can freeze droplets in the air or get that misty look from long exposures.

My camera does lots of cool stuff. I do want to try to get drops of water though. I love pics of water! It looks like a painting!

Nice shots, Leigh. Little bit of blown highlights on the Hosta blossoms, you might try them when the sun isn't so strong. Remember the "golden hour" (early morning, early evening) is the photographer's friend. Always fun to play with light, shadow, etc. You could try a polarizing filter for Koi shots, for the price of a stop or two of light, it'll let you cut through the surface reflections. Of course sometimes (like with these shots) those surface reflections are pretty cool too!

Yeah I took these shots when the sun was definitely working against me. I walked by the flowers and they caught my eye. I tried to keep the sun behind me but it was too high. But the Koi shots, I wanted the reflections. It reminds me of watercolor paints.

I find that the best lighting for photos is between 7:30-9:00 AM. Otherwise, I always have Photoshop to fix the over/under exposure & lighting Do you have Photoshop? You might look into it!

Nice shots, I like the first one the best. The koi shots do look like watercolors ( no pun intended ) that's the first thing I thought of also. My camera was calling me today also Leigh, but I couldn't answer it, I had to go to work! Waaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!
