Re: Life in my garden I just wanted to point out in the 3rd post 3rd pics, that is the belly of a pregnant female mantis! She got even bigger than that. The following spring I was lucky enough to see the nymphs climb out of the case the size of tiny mosquitoes. Her case was about as big as a walnut which hold 200 o 1000 nymphs. We estimated over 10,000 hatched this year. My yard is so tiny, really only garden. Its a very special and peaceful place for me.
