ya think? Really? I would love to! I could take pics all day! And theres times that I have waited hours to get a good shot. I have a ton of pics from film, that are amazing. I wish I knew where to look to get started!

I started with the yellow pages - local publisher & art director connections. Even local mags/weeklies/dailies will be looking for 'interest' photos. also:Children's publishers & nature publishers. I also looked at the inside cover where the publisher or art director's address/business is listed,on any book or mag. Call them up & ask where you can send photos & who would be the one to send them to & if they see the artist - most do not see you.

It doesn't hurt to send out some feelers. When you send a sample - some people make it into a post card. Always ask 1) for input & 2) for others who might be interested. Many will be happy to redirect you & to give free advice on what you need to do. But don't expect it from everyone. The best critiques often hurt or they are supportive - both are good.

I hope you try it & see if you can make it happen. They are always looking for new things in publishing. Start small & realistically - there is lots of competition. I once did a number of pieces for the member's newsletter for our Provincial Museum - there are lots of publishing going on, once you start looking - even internet newsletters.

This is good advice! I appreciate it. I just might start poking around!
