#1 | | | Baby Squirrel on the way to me I just got a call from a person with a baby squirrel, he-she is on there way to me.
I will take some photos and keep everyone updated on his-her progress.
I am soooo excited.....
Here's a few photos of my last little Squirrel that came to me.
These little ones are kinda hard to keep alive, feeding can be kinda hard if one doesn't know what there doing.
So, please stop in and watch as this little one grows.

#6 | | | Re: Baby Squirrel on the way to me They are so fiesty when feeding, very aggressive, if you feed to fast fluid enters there respiratory system through there nose as they breath heavily through there nose during feeding.
While feeding one must not feed to fast, if there's even the smallest amount of formula seen coming from the nose, a seizure is sure to happen and the little one will perish.
Baby rabbits are even harder to rehab.
Also one must be very careful while rehabbing, I don't hold the little one after he-she can see well and climb around in the cage on his-her own, I stick the syringe end into the cage through the bars and feed without touching the little one, this helps a great deal when release day comes.
When these little squirrels (appear) they are eating on there own, they really aren't.
example, I offer cherios when I see they are old enough to begin eating on there own and find the cherios chewed up, this tells me "yes" he-she is eating on there own but in fact they aren't, they are experimenting and will still need formula to survive.
Yes the amount fed is also important, I would rather under feed and do more feedings than over feed and cause problems, and just like any little one, they seem hungry all the time and can eat and eat and eat.
