Default Baby Robin down...help

Something told me to go outside. I looked down and just below the tree on the ground was a baby Robin with wing pins and a little head fuzzy. I thought was dead. I picked it up and it opened it mouth and started to breathe. I held it close to warm it up and tried to find the nest. I came in to take pics so Arty can see its age and give me some idea of what I have to do. I went back out put the baby in a little packing crate with a towel and went to find the nest. I had to get a ladder it was about 12 ft up. The nest is s very small with 3 other babies in there. I dont know if it was thrown out or fell. I though they only kept 3. This baby is too alive to let it die. I put it back in but theres not much room. I dont know what to do!

As my pics were loading I checked it again. Its still in the nest cuddling and sleeping with the others. Will the mom come back since I touched the baby and disrupted the nest? I hope I didnt just cause 4 fatalities instead of a possible 1.

Video loading to follow shortly.

I don't think you did wrong by putting back real quick. Birds have better sight than smell so if mom is away she wont know when she returns. Watch the ground because if she tossed it she is going to throw it out again.

I checked on and off until dusk. I believe it is still in the nest. I watched mommy going in and out with worms for the rest of the day. I wish I could just pop my head in but I had to use and extension ladder to get to the nest. Its ats least 12 ft up. I hurt my freakin back moving the ladder! All I can do is monitor the ground at this point. But its crop was full so I think it fell out and wasnt dumped on purpose. Its a tiny nest though. I cant see all 4 in there much longer.

If there is some way you can rig up a catch type basin or sheet or etc. to catch any babies that might fall out, that might be a good idea. Otherwise a fall to the hard ground from 12 ft. up could be fatal or cause a leg to break, etc...... The lil one prolly was real lucky the first time.

No biggie on feeding one or more babies though, if you have to, just have some hand-feeding baby bird formula ready and some pellets that you can moisten to insert into the back of the throat (I have used Z-Pellets for wild baby nestlings). A lil scrambled egg also works well IME. Ya also have to have a willingness to feed every couple/few hrs. and be willing to interupt your sleep at night. Fingers crossed for all the lil ones.

Btw, I don't think giving any milk to a baby bird or any bird is a good idea.
