I'm not a rehabber, but I can attest to that! We've tried to save so many bunnies over the years, but very few survive to be released. And what is strange is that they often even appear to be greatly improving right before they suddenly die. Very tragic for a young animal lover like myself. My dad successfully rescued 2 bunnies a few months ago from the middle of our cattle fat pen during a torrential downpour (just a dirt pen, which turned to about a foot of mud covered in most parts by water during this storm). He had them for about a week and was able to then release both of them. It's so wonderful when it works out like that.

I did the same thing a few years ago. I was weed wacking and something ran out from under a bush that I was just about to trim under. I thought it was a rat at first...It was a bunny and it escaped unharmed. That little bunny stayed with us untill the hurricane. (over a year) I never saw him again.

Turned out there are 4 of the babies, Momma moved them up close to our house where it is more secure, she brings them out into the open when its almost dark out, we watched her feeding them from the window, as soon as I went outside to sneak a few pictures in, they went back into the flowers for safety...
