If you were an Eclectus and gonna meet your new owner for the first time, what would be your most favorite treat he could give you? Of course, you would be showered with lots of praise and gratuities, but what food treat would totally spin your tail feathers?

I know with my Amazons, I could get them to whittle a sculpture for me if I showed them a little sliver of cheese.

In this house we think mac nuts, peanuts and cheese is good stuff but we not ekkies here.

Pine nuts. French Fries. Hmmm? Now what else was it?

I don't have an ekkie either, but my guy loves cheese also.

I'm used to Cleo and Cecil eating everything they could get their claws on. And then, I see pictures of plucking ekkies...

You definitely do want to read up on Eclectus diet needs - not that you'll find that it's all definitive as you will find conflicting information, but Ekkies do have the longest digestive tract of the parrots. And certain food issues can cause toe tapping, wing flipping, etc. in them. Not to scare you at all, but it is something to start reading up on (you probably have been already).
