Is there such a thing as too much bathing? I know that sounds weird, but I give Lucy a mist bath every morning, she givs herself a bath every afternoon and I give her a shower bath (to really get wet) at night with me. Do you think this is too much?

I might be concerned about dry skin, same as if I took three showers a day. lol Ekkies do love their bath time.

From what I here, a good misting frequently is good for the pluckers.

I would think that would be too much. I've always heard baths should occur once to 'several' times per week. IMO, once a day is even a lot. I'm no expert though!

Has this increased lately? Do you add anything to the water - like Aloe?

It might be too much or it could be a good alternative to plucking. I have no experience however. Does she use her oil gland at all afterwards? My Budgies are like Ducks - at least Laker is - he oils his feathers very well to the point that its hard to get him wet!

My suns bath themselves once a day every day. I have no idea what is too much.

Yes, it is hard to get her wet in some places, especially her wings. I do have aloe vera in the water. She doesn't seem to be picking at her feathers all that much, I just worry about skin irritation, etc....

Maybe the bathing is relief for her & a relaxing thing to do. If the air is dry the damp would be a relief to her. I've had some hard times myself with the dry air this winter.

Maybe...The air gets so dry here. In the winter I have to use a heater (even w/ the house's heat on) and a humidifer. Sometimes that just isn't enough...
