I am not sure about a weird smell, but you can certainly offer a dish of water to bath in, maybe your bird will bath himself.

Ekkies should be bathed a lot. Two or three times a week if you can. Ekkies have a wonderful musky kind of smell to them. Unless its been too long between showers............. then they can get kinda smelly.

Jazzy smells like cornbread and flowers when she's indoors and warm. Mmmmmmmm! I'm a fid sniffer, I'll admit!

When she's got the outdoor air on her, she gets a totally different smell, for some reason. I think it's more of the musky smell as Jim mentioned.

My boy often stinks! I shower him and he's fine. Within a day, he's all funky again but its really only his face that gets like that.

Thanks for the replies. I just got him 2 days ago and I have not given him a bath yet. We're still on the trust issue at this point. I am planning on trying to mist him today and see what happens.

Yes, the weird smell I am talking about is that musky smell, couldn't describe it when I was posting.

I love all of Jazzy's natural smells...but I hate her spaghetti/taco breath smell...it sticks on her for DAYS!

Might be what he is eating? Happens a lot with Eve, to help I give him Fennel to eat, it's healthy and acts like a breath mint!

I give it to Eve raw like I would celery, Just whole stalks the tiny leaves and all, he goes crazy for it! And for Too people, I rarely seen a Too turn down fennel, something to it I guess? Had bare eyed Toos that would never touch a veggie, put some fennel and you would thing they were in heaven.
