Oh what a doll! A little plucked ekkie girl! Jeanne, please keep me updated on her progress! She andlucy look almost exactly alike (something's going on with her, I'm hoping its just a molt) but pleasedo, she is so precious! And she sounds like she's got the perfect personality!

I think Lucy has more feathers.

Did you ever get the feather in? I just started Rosy on it, She's got some new feathers growing in on her wings. She also doesn't balance well, sort of the same problem we had with Budgie when we first got him (he had no tail or wing feathers which made balancing hard).

She's got a loving personality, all she wants to do is be with me...

I ordered a small amount from Avitech just to try. It seemed to do a really good job! I need to order some more this weekend. I also made a 'mush'. It is oatmeal (uncooked) blended with an aloe vera gel drink stuff (my dad orders it for himself, 100% aloe vera) and some water). She seems to like it and I know oatmeal is soothing and aloe is very nutricious, so I'm hoping that might help. Its just really hard, and I'm sure you understand what I mean. Its like a trial and error. But, Rosey sounds like the perfect girl! Hopefully she'll get her feather in quick!

Also, there's a food supplement Avitech sells. It supposedly helps with feather growth. Have you tried that?

Sounds like HORMONES! The digging, I refer to chicken scratching Digging a nest! Jazzy does it constantly! Even on my arm and my head!

Rosy is an angel. Good behaviour or bad, if I lived up there...I'd need to adopt her. I have a severe soft spot for all Ekkies.

Poor guy. I've had really good success with the feather in.

what a sweetie! i wish you continued success with little rosey, she is looking pretty good so far. i can't imagine the heartbreak of handling a plucked bird, but she sounds like she has a real doll of a personality.

Jim,

I used the Feather In that Jeanne uses and Lucy's feather came in dramatically! After I stopped, the feathers started disapearing again Good luck to both of you!

Interesting, same thing happened with BamBam (CAG) but NOT with Budgie (Scarlet Macaw). I just started spraying BamBam again as well as everyone else.
