a sweet little pair of Solomon Island Ekkies. Male and Female, very bonded, unrelated, unproven, and TAME! A pair of sweet little bundles of bright colors and whimsical voices. They have been together since they were babies and hatch years are 1999 Female and 2000 Male. They don't have names!! Can you believe that?!?!?! So, Jerry and I are taking some time to find the perfect names for them to give them some identity.
A little history... they lived with a good friend of mine since they were babies and he decided they would be happier living with me. So Jerry and I took a drive down and picked them up. I am happy. Jerry is thrilled. These are the one bird that Jerry has always adored and admired but never thought we would share our home with. But the best part... they both totally adore Jerry!
They are not used to living in the house, they lived in a greenhouse type building among smaller birds such as Lovebirds and Australian Keets, but seem quite content in their new abode. Eventually they will move outside to a large fllight with attached house... have to build the house.
Here are some photos. Please excuse their ruffled, disheveled look. They are in great need of bathing!
