Default Noah's here and home safe!

Hey guys...well I am the proud owner of a Vos ekkie now! Not that I wasn't proud of Mikey...but Noah is HUGE compared to little Mike.

He is sweet a little grumpy but can you blame him? He was housed in a room with a Hans macaw, two cockatoos, a female eclectus and an african grey! No wonder he was so moody. Poor thing.

I have to say that her house was gross! Noah's cage has a pile of poop that when up and over the grate on the bottom! I saw him in there and knew he had to come home with me. He's in a new cage here with a few toys. I may end up switching Mikey's cage with his because it's a wee bit small for a big ekkie like him, but Mikey would fit it perfectly.

He has the sweetest little voice and he actually uses it lol

I'm so happy for you Dani! I can't wait to see some side by side pics of Mikey next to Noah. I hope Noah settles in well.

That is wonderful! Delighted to hear the news. Adding "Noah in his new house" to the list of pictures you owe us!

I think you are telling stories. If you REALLY had a Noah at home with you you would have posted pics. hehe

Congrats, Dani! Didn't I tell you he'd be huge once you got him home (in comparison to Mikey)? Amazing how large the Vos boys (and girls) are. So happy for you!

Oy yeah...the Vos are huge! I am pretty sure Mikey is a grand ekkie (he's got these really light yellow irises...and his tail coloration is more of a faint pale yellow) so to have a Vos come home...geeze! He's got these HUGE feet too

He's a sweetie though. So far all he is is a little skittish but he will step up without too much of a bother. Mikey fascinates him but all Mikey does is growl LOL Mikey doesn't act like he wants to hurt him but Mikey is my green eyed little beast...

Ok let me give you a description of what he was housed in previously:

Like I said before...there was a Hans macaw, an african grey, a goffins too, an umbie too, the female eclectus and two lovies. My first thought was of that poor macaw...she had one filter for two toos...

He was on the BOTTOM of a stacker cage (basically a dark dungeon of a cage) here cats and a dog would be at eye level and the kids would be within easy reach. It looked like the cage hadn't been cleaned in months. No I am not lying or over exagerating here...there was a pile of poop and went a good INCH over the top of the grating. He had one manzinta perch (for those of you who don't know ekkies, they are alot like greys and need sure footing on a perch...manazinta ain't gonna do it)

He had one plastic toy...no wood for him to destroy. He was fed a diet of seed with a little pellet (It's amazing he looks as good as he does) He was lightly plucking his back feathers underneath his wings (I am sure it was due to stress and a bad diet)

So now he's in a nice clean cage (I am going to be switching Mikey and him today) with two wooden toys, don't want to overload him at first. He's taken to chewing them up already! Yaay! He dug into dinner last night like he was starving. He is light for a Vos, I can feel it when he perches...so I am going to be trying to have gain a little weight. Even the vet told me to pack the ounces onto him!

Anyway he is in a better place now, and I am without a camera...SUCKER ain't I?
