Default nesting? Thinking its an egg?

Not sure here. What to do if anything. You all know of Sophie and her buzz saw routine. Well, yesterday for a bit she did this. So far today it is what she has been doing. Only this. I went down and talked to her for a bit. She is so very peaceful about this too.
I think she thinks she is sitting on eggs.
    Ideas? Advice?

Sounds like she may be acting broody; like hens do when they incubate eggs. She chipped up the wood to make her nest hole and nesting material and now she is brooding her nonexistent eggs. My hen cockatiels do it all the time. Especially if one lays eggs and the others see the eggs; they get broody too but don't lay eggs.

Generally, Jim, she is playing house; just like a good little girl!

Yep, that is what she is doing. Just let her play house for a while and she will come back to her normal behavior soon.

Oh, and look out for monster poops; she will hold her poops while on the 'nest' and eliminate when she leaves the brooding area.
