Default Nesting

So Lucy seems to be thinking about nsting lately. Every dark cravis, etc... she loves. I was just wanting to know what I do when she's nesting. Like, should I give her a nest, should I encourge it? Should I take out the eggs or leave them? Etc...I've been doing some research and there seems to be 2 different opinions on the topic.

If you can avoid the nest-nesting behavior do so. If eggs are actually laid, leave them or replace with fake, they wont be fertile anyhow.

Dom,

I have one word for you...keepherofftheground, lol.

Kira is my 5 1/2 year old SI. If I let her roam the floor, I'd never get her out from under/behind anything. Despite my best effort, Kira has decided her dry mix dish is her nest. Since it's part of a buffet feeder system I can't exactly get around it. Now, she does come out and climb and play but she also spends some time napping in the dish.

She also lays an egg here and there. If they are intact, I leave it to keep her from going into egg overdrive. She eventually figures out it's not hatching and chucks it. I do check inbetween to make sure it wasn't cracked.

When she has the egg, everyone and everything, including moi is the "big bad". I've learned to give her space. It's not hard for me to live with because I truly admire the tenacity of the little momma ekkie mentality. They're like the Mom's who lift cars up with their bare hands to save their child. I can't argue with that.
