Wonderful pictures! I just love male ekkies. I can see a size difference but it's not as big as I thought. What is the difference in their weight? They are both very handsome though!

Amazing birds - I've only seen one male Ekkie - at a bird show, & yes they're very handsome.

Although i could see a slight difference in size - it was the red on the sides which seemed different in each bird - is that species traits or individual birds?

The beak is pretty impressive as well - one or 2 of the shots really showed off the length of that upper mandible!
