Default Kiwi fruit madness

Lilly has discovered the wonders of kiwi fruit. She had some for breakfast this morning and promptly dumped all the fruit and veg from her bowl to search for more. She then spied some on the bottom of her cage and spend several mintues trying to fish it out through the grate at the bottom. I usually don't give her much kiwi fruit, hence the suprise at her reaction. But she ate every bit that was to be found in/that was in her bowl. How much kiwi fruit is to much I wonder? Is there much goodness in them, does anyone know? She even turned her beak up at fresh mango to try and steal the kiwi fruit off my plate. I am suprised she was even able to tell what it was because I had cut it up into a fruit salad kind of thing.
Wonder what food she will simply have to have tommorrow?

not the best shot, my camera is giving me a hard time today

I cant get any of mine to go near Kiwi! Ive tried several times. We have locally grown Cantelope here now. My ekkie and my cag love that! The toos wont go near any fruit at all. Alex the pink monster would live on nutriberries if I let him though.

I haven't tried Kiwi, but in general my guys aren't big fruit fans. A little bit of Banana in the morning, some cut up apple for treats in the afternoon, but other than that they don't seem wild about most fruits. Gonna have to give some Kiwi a chance!

I bought a Kiwi a few days ago because Ollie hadn't had it in a very long time. She wouldn't touch it! I was very surprised.

I haven't tried cantelope, but I have given the gang rockmelon before and it was a huge, messy sucess. Ms Lilly doesn't like bananna atmo, she is still chasing the kiwi fruit slices around her bowl today but thankfully not dumping everything out to search for it.
Everybody was loving berry bird bread today, the GCC's practically mugged me when they saw what I was bringing them. Since it was so cold today I thought it would be nice for them to have some warm food comfort. Lilly made those happy eating sounds while chewing on dinner tonight.

All my birds love kiwi but I don't feed any fruit exclusively. I try to keep a 'suitable' proportional amount in mind by remembering that having 4 or 5 raisins for a bird can be like a human eating 100 grapes.
That's not a 'by the book' comment, but it does help me from going overboard with fruit.
For those whose birds aren't interested, maybe you could sprinkle a little cinnamon on it for interest. I like to give it, along with other 'wet' fruits, because I think it's good for them to have the extra liquid in the summer.

Mine love kiwi! I cut it in half and give them each a piece. I think their favorite thing to do it play with the skin afterwards. Lucy picks off every little hair, lol!
