Default Keeping both sexes of Eclectus parrot

I have heard that it is recommended not to keep both sexes of eckie's in the same household if your not going to pair them up and have babies. Because it causes more hormonal and temperamental problems? Can anyone tell me if this is actually true? If both birds were kept in separate cages, on opposite sides of the bird room but could still see each other do you think it would be a problem? Does anyone here keep both male and female Eclectus as pets? If you do, are they able to spend outside cage time together or are they strictly separate? I have had a look around and while I have seen it mentioned before that its a general no no, there isn't any elaboration on it.

I have heard this same phrase as well. From all I have read, it depends on your ability to handle it. Most people are not knowledgable or experianced wnough to handle a male and female of the smae species during mating season. This seems to apply to most pet owners, but not all. It can be done, but expect to have a more hormonal hen and a male who wants to breed. I wouldn't do it, but, it's workable. It's all in the way you handle it IMO.

I read this this morning. Thought about what I have read over the last year about it. It seems to tip more towards being extra hormonal but I have read as well where it made no difference at all.
