Default How is this possible?

I left Ekko in his cage this morning before I went to work. Tonight when I got home, I freaked out when I look at his cage and it was empty. I found Ekko perch on the headboard of my bed.

I am still wondering how he got out of his cage because all the possible exits are still close and latched. Does your ekkie pull this kind of houdini trick all the time?

Wow, that's bizarre! You might have to set up a surveillance camera to find out how he did that. Hmm.....no children in the house that might have accidentally liberated him? I'm sure you already checked to make sure there's no place on the cage where he could have squeezed out? Sometimes there's a spot where the bar spacing is wider, but I can't imagine it would be wide enough to let an ekkie through!

I have to lock Papi's cage up real nice and check and make sure everything is closed right because He's smart and will unlock a food dish from the outside hoping I wont notice and then escape thrugh it after I close him up and leave.

However, Every now and then I've been scatter brained enough to leave lock up the cage and realize after I came home that I locked Papi out of his cage.... lol...

Any slider doors not locked are escape hatches. The door falls back into place so you never know.

Boca does that all the time. There are spring latches on her feeder dishes and three slide latches on the door but, she still manages to escape.

OMG! Your heart had to have been in your throat! I've often done a quick glance and not seen them because of a toy or something blocking my view at first and I panic until I see them. I can't imagine having to start searching the house. Hopefully she didn't get into too much trouble. I would imagine now that she's found a way out it will only be a matter of time before she does it again. Wouldn't you just love to have a camera set up, so you could see her in action, lol.

I'd bet that's what it was also! Whoever came up with that latch design, does not have a bird! I have screwed those in tight so that I have a hard time swinging those latches open.
