Saturday we got two more Cockatoo's and a Double yellow head Amazon.
The poor birds are covered and I mean covered in Nicotine ,they are so yellow.
These guys came in due to a foreclosure .
Princess is a U2 10 yrs old
Harvey Boy is a U2 35 yrs old
and the Amazon Austin is 40 yrs old.

I don't want to offend anyone... so forgive me... but you know, years ago I stopped adopting animals to heavy smokers. It's just one of those things... you can smoke, I don't care, I even light one up when I'm especially stressed... but don't subject your animals to it. We got in a little Maltese last week that is also yellow-- and after 3 baths and a body cut still smells of smoke. She has horrible skin allergies and eyes that were caked with goo... hmmm... could it have been that smoke??

My God Barb, that is awful. I can't imagine a bird covered in nicotine. Grrr.

Despite the horror of the nicotine - are they OK? They are pretty mature birds.

I just took in a Jardine which still smells of cigarrete smoke despite a bath. The sheet used to cover her cage, her bowls, her toys and even her Kings cage smells of it, too! And the woman breeds red factor canaries right smack in the middle of all this smoke! Unconscionable!

Despite the nicotine, They are very happy birds, The two Too's talk non stop ,and are very friendly.

You've done it again!!! Bless your sweet heart! They are so adorable. Poor little things. Wonder if they might have nicotine withdrawal? They probably smoked as much as the people did. Please give them scritches from me and Ruby!
