Thank you Kris and right back at you and Gracie. I'm sure nothing is wrong but will follow through. I think it gives her even more Character

I do too, like when some african greys have red in their feathers, or ekkies come out with these crazy oranges and purples, some molt out some don't. I have a picture that of Dr.Pepperberg's "Alex" (I hope I spelled her last name correctly) and he still has a lone red feather at his age. I like little "flaws"....I purposely go for the "mean" or deformed birds...lol I just think they have more zest and spunk. And having different colors where as other toos in her species don't thats even better, as long as its just an age thing. I hope shes okay !!

Does your bird get any animal protien? Or what kind of pellet is used? If it is Harrisons and your bird does not get any eggs or other form of animal protien it could be a lysine deficiency. Harrisons does not have any lysine. In greys this deficiency in seen be the odd red feathers. Unless of course it is genetic. Other things that cause feather color changes would be liver problems. I hope all is well and your bird just wanted a color change.

Thank You all for your kind thoughts and advice. I did speak to my vet today and he is certain that it is just an age thing. He also has seen this type of thing in citrons before. We discussed several issue at length and he said he wouldn't be surprized if on her next molt they were gone. But as a precaution to check her for anymore and she is due for a well bird check up in a couple of weeks. So thanks again from myself and my unique little girl. BTW for those who may be wondering she does not eat Harrison's but Lafabers pellets and Zupreem fruit pellets and lately has been eating all her carrots;they seem to be the favorite vegie of the week.

Diet is so important with these birds! Sometimes my bird goes a couple of days without seed. His first meal in the morning everyday is a fresh bowl of cut up strawberries, blueberries, bananas, some slices of cucumbers, green grapes and apple slices. Usually in the afternoon he loves his fresh baby carrots treats. Everything has to be rinsed and dried well. Seed should only be a small part of their diet. I order and excellent seed from Pennsylvania once or twice a year.....it has 48 different seed and grains in it.....Miki loves it and he has been on it since a baby. I will look at the bag and let you know what it is if you want to know.
PS: My bird eats better than me!
Also I open a vitaman E capsule and rub it on his beak and feet once a month or so.

Thanks for the tip on the vitamin E.Nelly has been eating her pellets since she was a baby and actually does get a small portion of a seed mix which she eats mainly for the safflower. Somedays all she prefers is her pellets. She always gets her fruits and vegies every day and her favorite snack of choice is avi cakes. let us not forget Pine Nuts. They are her absolute favorite. I am always on the look out for a new seed mix and yes would like the info. Thanks.
