I have always loved Black Palm Cockatoos- Though I have never interacted with one. They have a pair of them at the Tampa zoo- I drew one of them-

Actually, ot was one of my first Miniature drawings.

I have heard mixed things about them as pets- How are they?? I know that they are a bit pricey

I have heard nothing but good about the black palms. I've heard they have a great temper, unlike the reputation of the larger cockatoos. I've heard they don't require as much attention and do well occupying their own time.

Take a look at the pics my friend.This is the second one we have had the pleasure of meeting and let me tell ya this guys special.So loving and playfull.Anamated and just a riot to watch him play on his stand and try soooooo hard to get your attention.Pricey yes for sure,worth it, geez I wish I could get him I'm not a Too person so to speak but I would say I'm a BP2 person gladly

Yeah- He LOOKED super friendly in the pics! I have to admit, it is one of the more beautiful birds out there, for sure! That beak- What a MONSTER!

The ones at the Tampa zoo are kept in an outdoor aviary to themselves- and as a testament to how pricey the critters are, there are survailence cams just for them.... Something not done with MOST of the animals there... Then again, I don't think that there are too many people trying to steal a manatee... Wouldn't fit in the tub

When i was in Maui i met a black palm... he was absolutley adorable! It was such an amazing experience, it was so sweet! You're very lucky!
