Well it's been awhile since I have posted a Nelly story not that she isn't a remarkable little girl and we have had some interesting days but this one,in my opinion, beats all. Here goes. Recently I have had new neighbors move in next door. In one of my previous posts I talked about this. Well when Nelly screams I have a habit of saying to her "STOP IT" not that she listens of course

. I have had her 15 years a never a word have I heard her say although some have said maybe she talks when I am not around. Anyway...I have been working alot since I have had to fire another employee and feeling guilty for leaving her alone so much decided to sleep in the living room with her on saturday night so she didn't have to be locked in her cage. I set my alarm for 3:30 am,opened up the sleeper couch, closed the curtains and windows and put the air conditioner on. About 2:30am I was awakened by very loud music, laughing, yelling and come to find out later beer cans hitting the sidewalk. I immediately sat up and looked for Nelly. She was not on her outside perch but inside her cage chattering softly. At first I couldn't make out what she was trying to say and then clear as day I heard it. My fids first words were"STOP IT"!!! All I could do was laugh

[i]magine that and I thought she wasn't paying attention to me all these years. I of course got up and reassured her things were OK and she eventually settled down and mom managed to get another 30mins of sleep. I always hoped the first words she would say would be "love you mom" but at least I know she wasn't ignoring me all this time just choosing not to do as I asked.

Gotta love it.
