Barb-

Ellie is a doll baby !! I love all my Toos to pieces !! The good and the bad I wouldnt trade any of them for the world, and if I had to do it all over again I would everytime lol...I know with some of my rescues/rehomes that if I'm not getting bit something is wrong..And if I dont have bite marks on me somewhere when I go into work people ask me if my birds are okay...LOL
Good luck Wendy !! I hope you make whatever decision is best for you,Ryan, & the citron : )

I'd go for it. But then I know what I'd be in for. I hope an experienced cockatoo lover, or atleast bir downer gets the baby. If your not able to keep iot, perhaps foster it untill a good TOO home comes by? Perhaps one of PC?

Thanks for your help guys. I did get more information on the Citron Get this, she is 8 months old, does not scream at all, loves kids, very affectionate and does not have a male/female preference. She seems to like everyone. Does this not sound like the perfect cockatoo?

I can't tell you how tempted I am. However, they sent me the measurements for her cage and it is freaking huge! So here is my last issue with this. First of all, it will not fit my car. It will not fit in my front door either. Never mind finding someone to help me! It simply won't fit. It would have to be taken apart and I cannot see myself doing this.

The first step with this rescue group is to release the bird to one of the Sr. Volunteers. She lives an hour away from me, not an issue, but I have to pick everything up and carry it all in. I'm 4 foot 11, I cannot carry in a 6 ft. cage.

At any rate, I would really love to help this bird, but it does not sound like she's in a bad environment. Her owners just don't have the time to spend with her. And right now I am the only volunteer in this group that does not have a foster. Everyone is booked up. If I can't take it, the group can't take it, as there is nowhere for her to go.

So still I am torn, but I'll ask friends and family if they're available to help me out, but we all live spread apart with busy schedules, that whole thing.

Thanks again guys, and I'll keep you posted.

Leigh, the cage size is 46x29x6ft. As far as vet checks, the owner will give us the records. But if the bird comes through our group, we do tests as well. The tests usually take 2 weeks to come back. During this time the bird needs to be in a foster home. It cannot be adopted out until the results come back.

If you're really interested, I can see if I can put you directly in touch with the owner.

Let me know!! You are so great Leigh.
