Default I decided to work with the M2

It's a male! I picked him up yesterday. He is in BADDDDD shape. I get hissed at every 5 min's. Poor thing is scared to death. I have stepped him up. Once yesterday and 3 times today. He does take food out of my hand. I also gave him a shower. I don't think he even knew what one was. He has NO wings, I mean he has the bone and muscle there, but he has chewed the feathers up til the muscle. He is a work in progress. I am going to work with him to see if he will ever be able to go into a forever home. We'll see. Here are some pics. They are from my cell phone because it was smaller and I didn't want him scared anymore than he is.

Have you taken him to the vet yet?
Where did he come from?
I'm sure you will make a big difference in his life.
Poor little guy.

She had just taken him to Scott McDonald. No health problems. But just to be on the safe side. I am sending in his blood work myself. I just wanted him to get here for a couple of days before, He learned to really hate me.

I have in a different room, where he will stay for at least 30 days if not more.

He is a exbreeder thats female died from starvation. Not from him, causes some males do that, but the breeder decided to give up and just let his birds die!!!!!!!!!!!!

When this lady with the M2 got there many of the birds were already gone......

Anyway, I have a feeling this guy WAS a pet that some breeder bought and put him in a breeding program. We will see how it goes

Thank you for taking him in and working with him. It may take a few months but I believe he will come around quickly once you gain his trust.

This will be a work in progress...He has BAD trust issues. He has not bitten me (YET) He did go for my finger once but he didn't even put pressure. I was gritting my teeth, preparing for the worst when he put my finger in his mouth, I know what a too's bite is and it is never good. (been there, done that and live with the facial scars) But he didn't even close his beak all the way, it was a warning and I took it as such. I knew I would have to take the bite if he was to try, he has no wings to help in glide to the ground if I were to drop him, there fore I knew I couldn't let go, so it was me, him and that beak...Thank God, he was only warning me....

He is not my bird. He is only here to be rehab. Although the lady would take as little as $400 for him, I want to rebuild this baby, trust, step ups, petting. We will see from there. If he is not here I will make sure he goes to a forever home that will continue to work with him. This could easily take a year.

The best part was the timing. Although hubby didn't see it that way, but look who we have on the calls coming up, what better place for me to get the best advise ever!!!! Believe you me I will be asking questions on the call too.
