I usually make a sharp hand clap or a high pitched whistle on my Goffins. That works for about 30 seconds!!! lol.. When she starts, I can here here literally around the corner a block away.

im not a too owner but one thing that works for me is simple. sassy and cuddles understand it. it is this trick you even do it to your kids. when the start screaming put your hand in the air like the stop sign and tell them NO,STOP THAT and keep doing it until they realize that the hand raised means NO. and eventually you dont have to say NO. but just raise your hand. works wonders if on the phone and you dont want to say it out loud because the person on the phone will think that your telling them No.

Default Hi Karol

I am new to the site and I went right to the 'Too forum. I myself have a citron. I love her to death but boy can she scream. I have to say though she doesn't do it just to hear herself. She always has a reason. nd it's usually when she is feeling a bit lonely. The nice thing about her is she is not a "huggy bird" like you think Toos are. A good example of this is an Umbrella. Citron's by nature are a bit on the independant side and although she likes me near she has no need to sit on me every minute of the day. She plays and hangs out on her cage and is content to know I am around. When she wants some skritching she lets me know. I believe Tritons are similar. But as we all know it's how they are brought up. After reading other replies I agree with the concept of spending the day if you can. Also know they are very powdery and you can dust one day and the next look like it hasn't been touched. Although there are many parrots I would love to own there is nothing like the love of a TOO!!! Hope this helps.
