A lady called wishing to be rid of her mothers Cockatiel, seems her mother passed away and she is tired of taking care of the bird.
Rose drove to get the little one, seems all the windows in the house were covered, completely dark in the house, Rose Ann said she couldn't even see the color of the furniture it was so dark.
I guess she about fainted when taking the cage and bird outside on her way to the car.
Filthy, 2 inches of poop in the bottom of the cage, the birds nails were completely curled closed, bad sinus infection.
Rose said she spent over an hour cleaning the cage and perch, one toy.
The birds name is Fred, a very pretty (mixed) latino/Pied.
His nails are done, a good bath, Real Tiel seed, many toys, and a very clean cage.

I'm so glad to hear that the bird was rescued. What a sad state of affaires. Things can only get better for poor little Fred. And they say that cats have 9 lives....lol

These stories scare me. I have no idea what will happen to my birds if they outlive me. Its in good hands with you two. That I know for sure.

Before getting my tiel I asked my Son if he would take Tobi if anything should ever happen to me or his dad and he said he would. So if Tobi out lives us, he'll go to my son. That a lone makes me feel good about having my tiel.
