IN all reality.......birds are programmed to learn the language of the flock in order to communicate. They are not born knowing this, they learn it. It is why parrots learn human words and why they continue to learn throughout their lives....Soooooooooo that is exactly what is going on, moving them in the same room might help, but it will definitely not stop it. Poe screams for many reasons, to come out, for fun, hormonal....Eve has picked up not only this noise, but has learned to use it for the same things. This would coincide with learning the language of the flock.

The only hope would be to teach your teil whistles for a contact call, and not it's normal chirps. This would than translate to Slater and he would pick up the meanings as well. But the chances of pulling that off????? have fun...

especialy since Slater is a grey, their natural call is the same pitch as a tiels. so it would make sense that he would pick up on it.

I think the only solution to not hearing them really would be to buy ear plugs lol.

I think what Jac says about foraging would help also. Maybe if the tiel is calling to you, the foraging will help him become a bit more independent and not be looking for you all the time.

Hmm... Oh well. Better learn how to teach the tiel how to whistle...

Thanks

tiels are awesome whistlers! You need to reinforce it for a contact call first and not worry about Slater. Once the tiels figures it out, than you would have to see if Slater picks it up. That's the hard part.
