A while back I was asked if I wanted this families GCC. They said they had owned it for about 4 years, but with their busy lives he wasn’t getting much attention anymore. Well of course I said yes, so arranged to meet and the woman gave me their address and said my name would be left at the front gate. Well this housing community had multi million dollar homes. When I pulled up in front of their HUGE house I am surprised my jaw didn’t hit the steering wheel! This mansion was complete with maids quarters and a huge lagoon style pool complete with waterfall. When they brought me into their house I followed them to the room where they kept their bird and get this, the poor thing was in this tiny little cage in the laundry room, which was a small (well not small for my 1300 sq ft. house, but small for their huge house) room directly off the garage entrance! Yeah, you think the bird wasn’t getting much attention – who spends that much time in the laundry room! The person who the poor bird saw the most was probably the maid! At least his cage was clean even though it was small and had one tiny mirror and one very tattered toy. He was also on an all seed diet and I was told that he wouldn’t eat pellets, they had tried every brand on him and he refused to eat them. I brought this little guy home and the in less than a week I had him converted to pellets. I brought him home on a Sunday and the following Sunday was a local bird mart, so he only had to suffer in his small cage for one more week. Now he has a nice roomy cage, lots of toys and he gets lots of attention as well. I just don’t understand some people. How in the world could you have this much money and shun your pet to a room that no one hardly ever enters! And then have him in this too small cage with no toys! Well at least he is a happy birdie now with us! His cage sits right between Tiki and Tinkerbell’s! Here are some pics:

It would seem that there's no direct correlation between money and brains, or money and common sense unfortunately. What a cute little guy, Quito would like a play-date if you weren't 3,000 odd miles away! Thanks so much for taking care of........hey, you never said what his name is!!
I've always had a soft spot for conures, and that guy is no exception =). He's adorable! I don't understand why people treat birds like that. At least they had the common sense to give him away.
Good luck, it looks like he'll be very happy in his new home =)
Tweeter's is a cutie, however I can say that with all of the predijuce in the world since I've got one of these little cuties in my house too! I love these little guys, they are the biggest little clowns I've ever met! I just know he's going to be the happiest little guy in the whole world, now that he's with you! Welcome Tweeter's.
