Talking My Dusky-headed conure

HI! I'm introducing my Dusky-headed conure Sellie. He is 5 y/o and I just got him this year. He had the name when I got him, and I didn't have the heart to change it. He is my bundle of joy. He is very tame and I potty trained him too, though not perfectly, I hope not for fear of some of the dangers it can cause. He has is off moments and the loud ones as all conure owners know well. He is in his own cage, but shares the room with 2 tiels and a budgie. They all get along great! I have been working with him, and so far am successful at breaking his cage territorial habit and he now allows all of the other birds to come inside his cage and eat out of his dish, and sometimes while he's eating out of it, and same the other way around!! He gives kisses (imatates the kissing noise) does the phone, the microwave beeps, and is starting to talk for me! He love sto sleep in his happy hut at night! Does anybody else use a happy hut?? If you have any questions about him, or just Dusky's don't be afraid to ask!
Thanks and ~ENJOY!!~

He sounds like such a sweetie! I agree, that second picture is just adorable. I don't know much about Dusky's at all- I'm glad you're here to educate us all!

He's beautiful! How long has he been with you now? Is he a cuddly conure?

Thanks! he has been with us roughly half a year now. He can be cuddly, but on days that he wants too, lol. I would say similar temperment to a sun, just not as noisy or as tempermental. JK every bird can be different. With Sellie It really depends on the day, and I think it helps if you get them at a younger age, since he's already 5 and had to move homes 3 times (counting me) I can imagine its hard. I truly hope he has found his forever home now!

His first owners had him for about a year, then they gave him to this guys parents for about 4 or five years (his age is a rough estimate) now they had gotten too old, and were traveling quite a bit, so you can imagine it has been hard on the poor guy. The lady that had him was really nice, and had to sell her other pets also. She said that they went to florida for a month, and her son (first owner) only came in to feed and water him. So he was pretty much alone everytime she and her hubby traveled.

Pictures of me and him playing on my bed:
