#4 | | | Nanday Nanday Nanday!! I am telling you you will never regret it! Yes Doyle is loud, but it is never constant. He has maybe 10-15 screeches in a day (which I am not going to lie- sometimes make me think me ears are going to bleed, especially when he does it on my shoulder). Mostly when he is ready to get up, when I first come home or if someone comes over and the dogs go nuts. My Doyle doesn't care for Prinny, but they can be in the same area and be just fine. Like they can both be on my shoulder at the same time and leave each other alone. They can both be at the dinner table together and leave each other alone. He is VERY affectionate and loving. He gives kisses and takes naps on his back laying on me. He would go to anyone and isn't afraid of much. Even though my other birds hate the vaccuum cleaner, he will ride on my shoulder while I vaccuum and it doesn't phase him one bit. He likes to be rubbed all over. He loves to play with toys! And almost anything is a toy to him. I also think the size of a Nanday or Sun would be better, because GCC are a bit smaller than Tiels and I would worry about him getting hurt in the bird room.
As far as agression goes Doyle really isn't showing any tendencies. He doesn't like it when Prinny tries to preen him and he lets her know, although he has never bit her! He loves to go visit Danny and try to play with him, but Danny isn't having any of it, lol. Him and Scarlett seem to like each other though and I think they may become friends.
Definitley don't count Nandays out, their noise really isn't as bad as people make it out to be.
Plus who wouldn't want to live with this cutie?

We are usually swamped on the weekends and I tend to see at least 10 Suns or Jendays (I feel they are basically the same) come through. I'll ask the owners. |

#8 | | | If noise isn't an issue, then go with the one that picks you. GCC's are quieter, there's no doubt of that. As to getting along with the other birds, I think that's a crap shoot. I don't think Quito is really aggressive, but she is pushy, and very determined about it. No fear whatsoever, which could be a bad thing if any of your birds is significantly larger than a GCC.
I'd think chances of one getting along with other birds would be better for this year's baby who'd be used to being with nest mates. You know, rather than an older one who may be more used to being alone.
You being from the land of Oz and all, my personal opinion is that you need an Ekkie! |
