Well, tonight I was talking to the birds like normal before bed and I took Sellie out and was doing our normal routine and all of a sudden he says 'gimme a kiss'!! YAY!!! his first words!!
I always say it to him and then give him a kiss, and right after he said it he reached up and kissed my cheek!! ' he alsio mimics the 'kissing noise'

They do learn quick don't they.
Both of my Greys give kisses.

wow, Yes, I was suprised from what I have heard about conures learning to talk, now we just have to work on getting him over his shyness and to get a little clearer.. lol

That a pretty impressive "first word"! Usually it's something short and simple like "hello"! I hope you gave him lots of kisses!

HOORAY !!! I'm excited for you !! My bare eyed has expanded her vocab since I moved her into the 40 x 30 with my Rose breasted....the only downside she has learned to mimic my rosies "play screams" (when my rosie plays she sreams and yells and hangs on one foot or just by her beak...Two play screaming Too's is a HOOT hehe

haha! thanks! sorry I haven't been able to get on....I took a day to go out and make some perches and was trying to get sellie to talk again...but now he's being stubborn and.....ugg... I can't seem to get it out of him again...lol.any suggestions?

Lol! Stop trying, that's my advice. They can be perverse little creatures, and seem to clam up just when you want them to talk! Just keep talking to him matter-of-factly, he'll talk when he wants to.
