Default Dharma has a boyfriend

This was a bit of an oops. I went to a breeder friend to get a box for the GCCs, took Dharma because he wanted to see how she was colouring up (incredibly btw) and came home with the box and a sunny boy.
His name is Diego, he's a couple of weeks younger then Dharma (I remember him as a bubby) and like Dharma is an extra yellow sun ( a look I really like). I had been thinking about a mate for Dharma (Olly has dumped her for Pip now) but it had to be the right one and like her have that extra bit of yellow.
They're both about 7-8 months old (I've lost track of things), he's h/r but not tame (got the marks to prove it) but I think he'll settle once he sees how much Dharma and the brats trust me. Dharma is already bossing him around in true Dharma style.
Anyway..here's some pics

Diego

Showing the yellow (Dharma in the foreground...again)

Mary, they are both beautiful! What exactly is an "extra yellow" sun? How do you tell the difference from a normal sun?

The term used is pied, but genetically I understand the terminology is incorrect. I personally prefer the use of golden or extra yellow just to describe the colouring. In adulthood instead of the flights being green and blue they are pure yellow. Dharma and Diego already have some yellow going through their flights and they've only had their 6 month moult. Suns don't get their true adult colour until 18mths-2yrs. Below is an example of a full "pied" sun as a bubby.

batch of "normal" sunny babes

Dharma and Diego certainly aren't in the full "pied" category, but somewhere in between. This colouring was an Australian thing and actually came out from WA.

For me, I just really like the look, it's like I like the look of yellowsided GCCs more then yellowsided cinnamon (pineapple) GCCs. It's all personal taste.
