i didn't spend that much time recently on trick training.... i modified the wiffle ball trick, so if there's no cup Mr. Stinkefuss brings it back and drops it in my hand. other than that, we're working on the concept of "stay" - a very hard one for Valo, who can't sit still a second. but he's getting better with it. i'm also working on recall training, which is a slow thing - he flies like a pro, but only when he doesn't see me; then he flies through the entire apartment until he finds me. whenever i call him to come to me, he bobbs his head and wants me to pick him up but we're working on short distances now, and he's in the process of figuring out the concept.

How funny -- he is probably thinking, if you want it in the cup so bad, why do you keep taking it out? Hey look, I have trained her to feed me while she takes the ball out of the cup. I'm such a clever boy!!

Cool ... I think all birds have the capacity to learn tricks if you get them excided. When I taught Pogo to do this trick, he was so wound up to do it that I couldn't believe it. Here's the video of Pogo doing it the night I taught him.
