I got Charlie from a hobby breeder. I really didn't plan on another bird but I couldn't resist the beautiful sound that he makes. Our house sounds like spring all year round!
Oh yes - those Canaries are so wonderful. I really go nuts at bird shows. There songs and their beauty are quite the package. Makes me wonder why I tolerate that Budgie [Sparrow like] chatter when I could have gone for real singing.
I see your birds are out and about - are they in a bird area? - all day?
I have the little guys out in the morning. They either hang out in the kitchen windows, or in the bird room. Fred, my YNA, is given a choice to be out in the afternoon, and the little guys are caged. Sometimes he wants out, sometimes he doesn't.
Well, as you well know, canaries are one of my passions so, of course, I think that no house is complete without their song. I gave out all my canaries but one male and, even though I was not going to breed again, I've been getting the itch to do it, just to have more than one singing about (I would only allow one clutch and keep all the babies unless somebody VERY trustworthy wanted one)
