Me either!! I was partial to the Stafford Crested. I would love to see that bird in person. Can you see their eyes?

Yes, you can they are like the Glosters... the eyes are there under the tufts of feathers....

We did a lot of bird studying this time before deciding what canaries we were going to breed this time... Lots lof time spent at bird shows.. that is why I have such a collection of canary photos...

Denise -thanks for posting these! We have some lizard canaries at the store - they are so cool! We also have some frills - I'm not overly fond of them though. My favorite is the Stafford crested! That one is so adorable! Reminds me of myself in the morning!

How infinitely amazing! I am relatively safe, since I am only taking in rescues, but might drive a long way for some of these lovelies. Thanks so much!!

Type: (body style judged)

(There are different divisions in these birds, ex. Glosters: Consort - Corona etc.)

Old World Varieties:

Belgian Fancy, Scot Fancy, Gibber Italicus, Northern Dutch Frill, Southern Dutch Frill, Parisian Frill, Padavon Frill, Florin Frill, Swiss Frill, French Frill, Giboso Espanol, Lancashire, Lizard.

ColorBred Canaries:

Which has the best song? I guess it is up to the individual who is purchasing one.. The song birds are known for thier song... but they all have a distintive song...

We breed Colorbred birds (Red Factors) Glosters, & Dutch Frills(1 pair) Years ago we collected all different kinds... but all the songs were not pure... they all need to have a room of their own to keep the song pure..
So this time around we decided on type canaries...
