As a matter of fact Michelle, I just got home with them . Soooo cute , I can see now how everyone is hooked on Caiques. Will quarantine now and study while doing so. Will let ya know how they progress. Need to find a male Black-Head now...... Road trip? Hmmmmm..... If I don't get too attached, I will consider it. LOL
Congrats Joel, can't wait to see pictures!!!

So Joel are you completely smitten yet? Are you going to keep them for breeding? Gonna have little itty bitty caiques running around in a couple years? Yay.. Joel has gotten bit by the caique bug!

Now.. pictures pictures pictures!

Sorry I didn't get back to y'all sooner......

Lara......Yes, they still look up here & there (none of my other birds do that), maybe not as much lately though. Such cute lil buggers, everyone needs to get a couple - so laughable when they play and roll around together and run from each other while playing keep-away with a lil ball toy.

Emily......Looks like I will probably keep them, not sure if they are clutchmates though so I still need 2 more WBCs (if I decide to breed down the road) and 2-4 BHCs - can ya tell, I am definitely smitten!!!

Can it be a florescent light? My Parrotlet looks up at my kitchen light like that. Never in any other room. We will be taking it out at some point. Just an idea? Can whatever your light is, be flickering only to the birds, like a florescent?

Ya know, that is actually a good thought. The other day I was taking a video of Ollie doing her tricks, and mid way through she stopped and just stared at the light for about 5 seconds. I've never seen her do that before- it was really strange!

Thanks for the continuing thoughts Sally & Camilla & all .... Nope, that isn't it either as they do it wherever - some rooms have F.S. Lighting (of the linear fluorescent type) and others have regular incandescent lighting in the rooms that normally do not contain any birds. Still no difference due to lighting. They do it in the SUV also btw and outside in the Lanai type aviaries in natural sunlight.

I'm beginning to think it is psychological, maybe something was kept above them as they were developing - from the infant (newly hatched stage) to weaning stage?
