Were they both looking in the same direction? Maybe there's a noise up in the roof - or was there something near that they perceived as a threat?

If it is nutrition - will you be able to fix it? What kind of policy does that store have? Great Price - Unbelievable, even with the Cdn equivalent.

Trust me, it was not a normal behavior ( I studied them for quite awhile). No they were not both looking in the same direction or etc.... They seemed perfectly healthy though: round chests, clear eyes, free of staining on vent area, smooth breathing, etc. etc. etc.... I'm stumped.

No, not like that - they were looking up at the ceiling, one more than the other - kinda often.

Hummm I've never seen that...maybe a bug or something on the ceiling, but I would go back and check them out again to see if they do it again.

Joel, I have a little experience with seizure activity with one of my birds. It's possible you may have been seeing one of the many subtle signs of seizure activity. IE: Gazing, twitching, a quick head snap/shake.

I've not seen that type of behavior, and it may very well be fine. I know that both of mine do some odd stuff compared to all my other birds. For instance they will hang upside down in their cages and be perfectly still for an hour or more at a time. I would be a bit wary of the price. Really really inexpensive.

i know when sassy is outside she does that. forever looking up in the sky. are the babies at waist level? and not chest level? they may feel threatend with people or things higher than them. caiques are very aware of their surrounding. whenever sassy is on the floor she is walking around w the stand tall pose and head cocked. in the wild they are canopy dwellers
