Default Ziggy - 1 year old?

Hey Scott - it must be close to Ziggy's Hatch day - & as you don't know it exactly are you going to celebrate his adopt day? How old is Pogo at this point too?

No notes on the Calendar.

I noticed that most of your photos of Ziggy were when he was quite young.
Rio has gone thru some big changes since he turned 1. Some days he almost looks as mature as Laker. Bet our resident Green is becoming quite the beauty. How about a portrait or 2 - of them both.

Nice photo album by the way.

Hi Jac! Yes! ... Ziggy just turned 1 year old on Aug 25th, and thanks for asking. This is the hatch date I estimated based on his assumed age (10 weeks old) when I got him. Pogo just turned 2 years old this July.

Yes, the photos of Ziggy in my photo gallery are when he was pretty young. They are so cute when they are innocent little guys. He has filled out pretty good and is about the same overall size as Pogo but not quite as "chunky".

Ziggy has turned out to be a very cool Budgie. He plays with toys in his own way, is very sociable with be and other people. He's talking some and comes when I call him. He visits me without Pogo and gives kisses and wants to know what's going on ... and looks for human food ever chance he gets.

Pogo and Ziggy are best of friends. Lately, they play this game with the cat ball toys that Pogo loves so much. Pogo will throw the balls around on the floor and Ziggy will try to take over control of the ball and guard it. So Pogo tries to make sneak attack maneuvers to steal the ball back. It's almost like watching two soccer players trying to get control of the ball. I'll have to try and get some video of it sometime.

Wow, you are right I only have a couple of photos of them together in my gallery. I need to get some good photos of both Pogo and Ziggy together now that Ziggy is more mature. I'll be away from computer access for about a week, so after that I will focus on getting the two in some photos.

I look forward to your updates! - this will be hard waiting .....

I love the idea of them playing 'soccer' together. That would make a great video.
A great compliment to 'Kung-Foo Fighting" -

I definitely want to see a video of the soccer too!!

It really is so exciting to hear of all of our experiences and how they are alike or different. I think it's fabulous that Pogo & Ziggy are best of friends.

I'm finally back from a short vacation and had a chance to take some new photos of Pogo & Ziggy. I got some good shots of Ziggy to show how handsome he's turned out to be ... all in glorious native Oz Budgie plumage. I included a couple of his 'baby shots' so you can see how much they change from 3 months to just 1 year old.

Ziggy at approximately 3 months old.

Ziggy at 1 year old. He's grown into a handsome boy ... love his 'dots'.

Pogo & Ziggy hanging out (pixs are a little fuzzy).

The best of Budgie Buddies !!

Those are fantastic pics!! Ziggy has really turned into a handsome boy. And his colors next to Pogo are lovely, they are so colorful and vibrant together. I've always loved the green budgies - the brilliant green next to the yellow and with a bright blue cere, I think it's gorgeous.

I just called Jerry over and he flew to my shoulder - I had the closeups of adult Ziggy on the screen and he leaned way over, with his head all puffed up, and he did the head bob

Ziggy is very handsome. His yellow seems even brighter than Pogo's. From that Nature show on OZ - they said the face is almost florescent. So I'd say Ziggy is a catch.

Both your birds have perfect dots & that portrait of Ziggy is so sweet.

It is pretty cool to see the overall physical difference between the older bird & the younger one. Pogo still looks so much more mature.

Hope you had a nice holiday.

PS - you should think about posting the last photo in the current contest.

Yes, Ziggy is definitely brighter colored than Pogo and his yellow is much more yellow and bright. The photos show the colors pretty well IMO.

... that's funny. Sounds like Jerry and Ziggy would be pals if they ever met.

Yes, Ziggy turned out better than I expected. He's really a character too ... much different personality than Pogo. It's interesting to see their differences.

I just noticed that Ziggy is missing one of the dots by his purple face mark (his left side). Those dots are kind of overlapped with the purple slash. What's the technical term for that purple mark? ... I don't really know.

They sure change in the first year. I agree that Pogo does still look older ... and fatter. Pogo is just more 'chunky' than Ziggy, and I don't think Ziggy will get that chunky.

Yes, had a great short vacation. Saw lots of cool things in the Pacific NW and WA, OR, CA coastline. Redwood forests, Oregon Caves, Crater Lake, Mt. St. Helens to name a few.

Pogo already won the "upside down" calender pic contest, so I'm probably not eligible to enter again.

If that was Laker Rio in those photos you'd see the iris. I think I remember you saying Pogo didn't - but Ziggy too?
