It doesn't seem like he breathes hard, but his wings tremble sometimes. I talked to Dr. O about that and she agreed with everyone else who suggested it was an nervous behavior (he did it once or twice in the car too, but by the way home, he really enjoyed the car ride and looked out the window the whole time!). He's making some crazy adjustments in the past few days and things are different for him, that's for sure. I doubt he's had this much attention in a looooong time.
He also does this thing where he'll step away from his mirror toy (which she suggested that I don't wean him off of for a few weeks, til he settles in more) and his torso will slowly drop a little and lean forward. Dave and I were worried it was a neurotic behavior or a sign of illness (I tell ya, any behavior different from Jerry's is raising red flags at the moment, and prematurely usually

). But Dr. O says that that is stereotypical behavior for the English budgies. She said that sometimes the English can act like a different species than the American with their body language. Julie was also telling me that she is still learning the different body language of her new English budgie.
And he is making great progress!! Dave and I can put our hand in his cage and touch his feet as long as he's standing next to his mirror toy (his comfort zone). Annnnndddd, last night we got a half-step-up from him, he put one foot on our finger for a short time!!

He's coming along remarkably well. And he sleeps through the night with no problems and is eating well. Dr. O says that I can begin to wean him onto Nutriberries now, so this morning I mixed in two Nutriberries in with his seed mix.
