I always have the best AWWWWWW moments when my camera is off in another room!! But I'll explain the situation and hopefully ya'll can get a good visual of my evening delight:

Winston was especially friendly and curious tonight, coming over to both me and Dave numerous times to hang out. When he's on us he's always very curious and excited. He flew over to my hand and then Jerry followed shortly after and landed on my other hand. Whenever I have both budgies on me they compete for attention, which usually results in one or both flying away soon.

Tonight, however, it was nearing bedtime and everyone played hard and was tuckering out fast - so I had one budgie on each hand for a few minutes and both were relaxed and calm........then Jerry tucks up one foot and fluffs up (ie, happy, content budgie)..............then Winston tucks up one foot and fluffs up too! I had them both on me like this for nearly 10 minutes. The camera was in the next room and I was afraid for Dave to get up and go get it for spoiling the moment. Jerry even tucked his head back in his wings and pretended to snooze for a minute, and Winston was the most relaxed he's ever been while on me.

It was pure bliss............

That's just great. Congrats! Your patience has really paid off. I guess, like Rio, he really only has to get along with the other birds & we're always 2nd. Socializing a 2nd bird takes longer I guess. I'm so happy Winston is getting so relaxed.

Rio is not as friendly as Laker, as you know. When they roosted on my foot one day while I was typing I wished I'd had a camera handy too! The other day Rio came to my shoulder & told me the longest story - but kept looking for signs of Laker. Laker still goes off & doesn't always return his contact calls. I guess I was the only show in town.

Aren't they so breathlessly sweet when they get all sleepy beside you or on you!? I'm so amazed when they do this - they are being so trusting. [of course in Rio's case he's trusting he'll be able to get away quickly if need be. ]
Some days mine are one bird to each shoulder - kind of an 80's look.

That 'not staying around' part can be a bit disappointing. Rio still will only step-up at bedtime or if he's frightened. Laker often takes off if Rio joins the group. Sometimes Rio chases him away.

You need to have a camera set up at all times in your room to catch moments like that, LOL, sort of like a security camera. I just love how one bird does something and the other imitates.

No camera needed, I can picture the moment perfectly from your words. It's so rewarding when you have moments like that. I just love days that end on that note!

Winston is the same way, he'll usually take off lately when Jerry comes to pester him. Lately with both of their molts they haven't played together much, and I know that Winston was very tired last week because of it, he must have been uncomfortable. I keep telling them both that they need to preen each other but they don't do that yet. Jerry still comes to me and my nose for his head scritches (I'm not complaining lol!).

If they're both on me they one will usually chase the other away and they both take part in the chasing, sometimes Jerry will want me to himself but sometimes Winston will want Jerry to go.

It's my favorite when they get sleepy on me - and lately Jerry has fallen asleep on my finger a few times and that alone makes my day. But last night with both of them like that on me, that was heaven!

How sweet! I can picture it in my mind, but a photo would have been sooo cute!
