Awww that's great they will all be good together ime. Budgies love colonies. I'd only be concerned though with only one hen and 4 boys that's rough on her and would worry me. Hopefully there's at least two hens. Or sorry you may have to add another two LOL.

Dont worry about babies you just split off the breeding pair in a seperate cage and swap the eggs with fakes if that day ever comes. Which it may not ever happen anyway. Thanks for taking them in.

I have been reading up on budgie and males vs females. thought I may have to get a female... to even things out. but thats ok they are not that expensive here.. 14.95 right now. but will in turn make sure they are even.... I was going to wait until I moved but this came about so will have them nearly out of quaranteen by the time I move.... but I am sure I will need some assistance along the way... thank you....

I'm so happy for you! I have a lot more boys than girls (guess they just end up at the pound more?) and aside from a few weeks (when I usually take the girls out and give them some peace) everyone gets along fine!!

You'll do just fine with all of them. It was great of you to take them in.

Great idea - a small vacation for the girls!

I think things will work out just fine with your flock - you might end up wanting to get another female....so no one is left without a girlfriend - but it may not be an issue. I know of one woman who offered females to her older male but he really was indifferent. They can be a bit like us - they have to fall in love to really get into the mood OR they are naturally promiscuous & love they the one they're with.

As long as you keep the nesting materials & hiding areas clear - you will keep the breeding part less of a problem. Also keep their light & night time consistent.
